Sunrises, Sunsets, and God Winks: Healing After Divorce With Faith

This week, God gave my husband and me the gift of different scenery while we’re still working. We’re at a condo on the beach—and God is so incredibly good. When I was healing from heartbreak after divorce, He gave me a home where I could walk and talk with Him while watching the sunrise every morning. Being here—seeing the sunrises and sunsets—takes me right back to those mornings where His presence became my lifeline and brought healing after divorce with faith.

God’s Faithfulness in Every Season

Those quiet mornings by the water reminded me then (and remind me now) that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He is good in the devastating seasons and in the joyful ones. In the storm, when I feared I wouldn’t make it to the other side, God sent what I call God Winks—the pink-and-gold sky, the hush of waves, the exact verse I needed, the call from a friend—whispers that said: I see you. I’ve got you. You’re not alone.

In Divorce

When your heart feels shattered and your identity uncertain, God draws near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He gathers the pieces and makes something beautiful. He steadies your steps, renews your mind, and restores your joy—one sunrise at a time.

In Job Loss or Career Change

When provision feels shaky, God remains your Source (Philippians 4:19). He opens the right doors in the right time. He gives wisdom generously (James 1:5), and He wastes nothing—using even detours to direct you into calling and purpose.

In the Blended Family

When emotions collide and loyalties feel tender, God’s grace is enough for each day. He teaches patience, gives language for love, and forms something new and beautiful out of many stories. He is the God of reconciliation and steady compassion.

In Financial Uncertainty

God sees every bill and every need. He multiplies our little, guides our stewardship, and surrounds us with help at the right moment. He is Jehovah Jireh—the Lord who provides.

In Illness or Caregiving

When bodies are weak and emotions thin, God strengthens the weary (Isaiah 40:29). He meets you with daily bread—just enough for today—and holds you fast when the night feels long.

In Loneliness

God never leaves you or forsakes you (Deuteronomy 31:6). He is Emmanuel—God with us—present in the quiet house, the long evening, and the silent drive. His presence is companionship, comfort, and courage.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

If You’re in the Middle of Heartbreak

If you can’t see the forest for the trees, hear me: He has you. This isn’t the end of your story; it’s the close of one chapter and the start of another. God is the Master Artist—the Great I AM—writing beauty into the very places that feel broken right now.
