Why I Am a Faith-Based Divorce Coach

Finding Light in the Darkness of Divorce

When I was walking the dark path of divorce, clinging onto my last bit of hope, the pain I felt was like no other. My heart inside my chest actually felt like it was breaking into pieces. I could barely breathe under the weight of loss, fear, and uncertainty.

But in the midst of my deepest sorrow, I made a promise to myself:

If I ever made it through this storm, I would dedicate my life to helping others navigate their own path to healing.

Maybe you feel like I once did—lost, abandoned, and unsure of what the future holds. If so, I want you to know something: you are not alone, and God has a plan for your healing.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

When Life Turned Upside Down

I had a good life, was well taken care of, and well loved,I thought—until everything changed.

Suddenly, my world was flipped upside down. There were so many questions:

Where I was going to live.
Where would I work?
How would I survive on my own?

Does this sound familiar? Are you standing at a crossroads, uncertain about the next step?

Here’s what I learned: God was with me every step of the way.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

The Power of Gratitude and Prayer in Healing

Instead of letting fear consume me, I chose to trust God.

Every day, I thanked Him for the home, the job, and the community He was preparing for me. I couldn’t see it yet, but I believed it would come.

And one by one, miracles started to unfold:
He provided me with an amazing job. Blessed me with a beautiful new home in a wonderful community. And, surrounded me with people who lifted me up instead of tearing me down.

Through it all, I learned something profound:
Healing isn’t just about moving on—it’s about moving forward in faith.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28

The Battle Against the Enemy

Throughout my healing journey, I faced many ups and downs. There were days when the enemy whispered lies into my heart. Telling me I wasn’t enough, that I would never rebuild, that I was too broken.

But I was determined:
🔥 Come hell or high water, I was going to get to the other side of this.
🔥 I was not going to let Satan have the final say in my story.

At the name of Jesus, our enemies must flee. I cannot tell you how many times I sat in my car, crying out the name of Jesus—declaring victory over my pain, my past, and my future.

So, if you feel weighed down by the enemy right now, you can do the same.
Shout the name of Jesus.
Command fear to leave.
Claim the promises of God.

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” – James 4:7

Focusing on Healing and Becoming Whole Again

One of the greatest revelations I had through divorce was this:
I needed to focus on myself. Not in a selfish way—but in a way that honored the healing God wanted for me. I needed to:
Heal from past wounds.
Strengthen my relationship with Christ.
Become a whole and confident woman again.

So, when God brought my husband, Rob, into my life, I wanted to be the best version of myself. I didn’t want to carry bitterness, pain, or fear into my future.

This is the same opportunity you have today. Becoming the woman God created you to be before stepping into the next chapter of your life.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” – Isaiah 43:18-19
